He puts a smile...

At Urban Life discipleship yesterday night, Pastor Sam brought to light the different ways of worshipping God. What alternative does one have when you don't have a Henry Seeley in your midst? Or a Mike Webber or a Darlene Zschech or better still; a Scott Lim? :) Who is right now on his way to Adelaide for Influences as part of the Shakers band. You go, bro!
Pastor Sam got all of us about 80 of us in the room to share the reason you love Jesus. The atmosphere that was in the place was incredible as one by one, leader by leader they stood up and declared the reason behind their love for God. Faithfullness, grace, healing power, always there, His word that is true, His love that endures forever etc. All of these are so true and real and relevant in my own life. I was seated right at the back, and my heart was pumping simply because i can't wait to delcare my undying love for this man that saved me from the pit of hell. The man that caused me to be who i am today but most importantly, this man who has given me a reason to live life to the fullest.
I just simply said, at the top of my lungs "I love Him because He puts a smile on my face everyday."

Uhm.

Due to the holidays, i confess, i slacked. I failed to hear what He had to say for my life, and most importantly for my urban life-ers for that week. How embarassing of me. But as always, as faithful, God is always gracious. "When you call out to me in your times of need, i am there."
We had a fantastic bible study yesterday night. I was blown away as i was preparing for it the night before. As always, i was blown away again and again by the revelations that the small little book could produce. The thought that 2 books that were written probably thousands and thousands of years apart, could be parallel. Ask my urban life-ers and they'll understand what i'm saying. Te fact that most of them were participating in the discussion and it's my prayer that this exercise will encourage them to read more - not just merely reading the bible as a story book but really, as a message from the Almighty. Who would have thought that it would take us 90 mins to dissect 8 verses??? I never imagined that. It was one of the best urban life so far. (Not that we had many in the first place! We're literally 4 urban life - old) :) I pray that each and everyone of them will go home with the eagerness of reading the bible for all it's worth!
As i'm in the full swing of 2006, i find that i have very little time. Just time to kill. I really don't have none of that! I wonder what's wrong? I mean besides that i'm taking two subs this sem with a full-time job as well. Oh yeah, you guys gotta really pray for my exams which is in 2 weeks' time. FREAKING OUT. Everytime when i look at my calendar in my office, this nervous laughter will escape under breath. Oh dear!
Well tomorrow night will be good - staying over with 10+ other girls from church at Mark and Mirella's who are going to charge us 50 cents each a flush :) John Bevere is going to be great! Gotta go with an expectant heart.
Oh and did i tell you guys?????? STEVEN CURTIS CHAPMAN is coming to town!!!! My whole life, i only wanted to watch 2 great christian artists in concert - 1) Mercy Me - which i have emailed and asked them when are they gonna come to Australia! 2) SCC!! I'm gonna see him life. I admire his gift for music alongside with his passion in bringing the gospel to the world. I'm sooo excited. I screamed in the tram when i found out!! As usual, everyone was looking. oh well.

My friends are the best! I was reminded by a certain someone that posting your address on your blog in cyberspace is a crazy thing to do. The stalkers that i'll attract not only to myself but to my household! Hah!
Well, just got back from good ol' NSW and had a glorious time. As usual, i absolutely love Sydney. I reckon it's not a great place to live but great for a holiday. Pretty much i almost tried all cuisines possible - korean, japanese, western, fast food too :)
As promised, pictures are here! Now enough of "nonsensical" relaxing activities, back to studying! I honestly can't wait for Anzac Day! TA!

Good ol' Melbourne

To all the good folks back in good old Melbourne,
Life in NSW has been awesome. We just touched down today at Newcastle this morning 7:30am after having a 2 hour "nap" the night before, i just couldn't help but be excited because i was running on adrenalin! Our cab driver picked us up at 4:59am, a small vietnamese man who escaped his country during the Vietnam war and was in hiding in Malaysia or 2 years before coming over to australia seeking for a better life. He kept on calling me "MAM" with a really thick Vietnamese accent which almost sounded like "MUM"! And AJ was just snoring the whole way through!
Anyway, the airport at Newcastle was really small. Smaller than the one in Ipoh! Unbelievable. Adding on that today is actually Good Friday, i can't help but count the number of cars that's on the road! After arriving at my cousin's place, which is sooo beautiful. Tastefully decorated i would say. We headed out to Nelson's Bay which is somewhere north of NSW. And we had Hog's Breath for lunch! How aweome?!!
I just came from a really beautiful dinner which was prepared by both my cousin and her husband which are the best amateur cooks in Australia. We had garlic bread, prawns, and lamb with this thick yogurt sauce. I normally dislike yogurt as it reminds me of a certain disgusting thing. But this one, i like.
Will definitely post up pictures soon. Oh, and i'm heading off to Sydney tomorrow!! Yipee! Krispy Kream, here i come!
May the Joy of the Lord be constantly upon you! :) Posted by Picasa

Fulfilled

During work today, pretty much after lunch, something amazing happened. After being thrust into a whirl-wind of challenges just two weeks ago; God has proven himself to be faithful. I was brought and carried out of the "hole" just by believing and praying. The funny thing was i handled the situation with much ease, not worrying too much as i would have. Somehow, deep down in my small little heart, i knew God would come through and this challenge will merely be temporary.
I have gotte a wee bit too "embarrased" with all that He has done for me. And now my prayer is that this will happen to all my colleagues too.
Thank You.

I absolutely love i-tunes! I managed to purchase so many songs that i just can't find in music stores. Really old school and obscure ones that are only available in the US. I love it! So everyone, if you're undecided as to what to get me. An i-tunes card would be a great one!

Thoughts to ponder about.

Ever been compelled to do more for God? I have constantly been faced with the dilemma of giving God my everything in all that i do. After watching the latest united live dvd, the biography of Billy Graham and after attending my first ever staff prayer meets on friday, one can't help but question - what has compelled them to make a life-alterating decision?
What is more precious and treasured than a soul?

Beautiful people!
I'm up and going again! Yes, i'm online at work, at home, in the toilet too! Enclosed, are a few pictures that i have taken over the past few months that i have been MIA.
Urban Life has been awesome. I am constantly overwhelmed at the power and strength that God can give when i just give in my all and leave the rest to him. I appreciate the transparency that everyone has tried to give. I just realised that being an Urban Life is much more rewarding than it seems. To see your Urban life members lift up their hands in worship to God simply because of the motivation that was given to them, witnessing them encounter God in their everyday lives and living their lives in their work place for Christ. (maybe for the last one not quite yet, but will work on that :)
I thank God everyday for a roof above my head, for the clothes on my body and in my wardrobe and for delicious food everyday.
AMEN
