Till then...

Hey beautiful people... You guys won't be hearing from me for a while... I'm gonna have my first CPA exam. Not freaking out yet.;) But it's all good. (At least i hope so). Well, the following Tuesday, we're having a day off because it's Melbourne Cup Day! Yipee! Will post up more pictures then if i have any luck :)
Well before i take a sabatical off from blogging, (is there such a thing?) my Ipod broke down on me. Yes, my world is collapsing... Music is my world... brought it to the Apple Store and they said that it'll cost me $200+ to repair me and that it's not worth it. But the point is, i have heaps of stuff in there! All my voice memos... Another thing is that if they were to fix it, the entire hard disk will be gone anyway. Right now, i'm torn between the love of technology or just the mere hatred of it that it DOES break down. I have decided if i were to put aside $50 a week, i should be able to get the new Ipod Video in 3 months... It looks heaps good! So, home-made sandwiches here i come... To my 2 good feet, i'll be labouring you guys more so because i gotta say goodbye to the trams and bus... :( The cost i'll have to pay.
Well guys, see you in a week's time! Till then...

"Gotham City"

This is one of my most "proudest" picture. It was 2am on a Saturday morning. The storm was ringing in my ears, the lighting was creating certain effects that scared me. I woke up from my bed and decided enough is enough. "How often do we get lighting and thunder here in Melbourne?" I thought to myself. So i drag my lazy bum out of bed and went out of my apartment. I'm on the highest floor which is only the 3rd. While i was taking these pictures, bear in mind that i could feel the great strength of thunder and the brightness of the lightning and the howling wind was freaky. I have to hold on to my tripod or else my camera would fly away. But all in all very, very satisfied. Sort of reminds me of God's GREATNESS.

The people of Belgium has been left reeling by the first adult-only episode of the Smurfs, in which the blue-skinned cartoon characters' village is annihilated by warplanes.
The short but chilling film is is the work of Unicef, the United Children's Fund, and is to be broadcast on national television next week as a campaign advertisement.
The short film pulls no punches. It opens with the Smurfs dancing, hand-in-hand, around a campfire and singing the Smurf song. Bluebirds flutter past and rabbits gambol around their familiar village of mushroom-shaped houses, until, without warning, bombs began to rain from the sky.
Tiny Smurfs scatter and run in vain from the the whistling bombs, before being felled by blast waves and fiery explosions. The final scene shows a scorched and tattered Baby Smurf sobbing inconsolably, surrounded by prone Smurfs.
The final frame bears the message:" Don't let war affect the lives of our children."
The advertising agency behind the campaign, Publicis, decided the best way to convey the impact of war on children was to tap into their earliest, happiest memories of Belgian television viewers.
Definitely no war for me!!

God, help me.

To all the ADULTS in the world:

Do you remember when did you cross over to ADULTHOOD?

How in the world do you all cope with all the corruption and exploitation?

Main question is: When did i join you people??????

God help me.

Yay!

I'm sitting here trying to read to get some of my CPA stuff into my head - which i am very distracted at this point. Just a good news, remember about the book hug that i was talking about a few weeks back? Well, guess what, my aunt in the states is getting me one! YAY! No more spilling for cheese from my sandwiches, no more wasting of food and no more books closing half-way when my thumb is not at the right place to hold it down!

Big Wombat?

Just returned from the 2nd Beautiful Woman event by Planetshakers City Church which just totally blew my teeny-weeny imagination away. It was awesome. Everyone left with a renewed passion, a renewed supernatural strength and most importantly - securing their confidence in God - as BEAUTIFUL WOMAN.
I'm always blown away by how Planetshakers seeks for excellence in all that they lay hands on. The attitude towards life - excellence, not perfection. Because perfection is using more resources than budgetted and bringing it to the best, where else excellence is doing the very best with the resources that you have.
We hada ball. The testimonies by our 4 very, very powerful woman of God was mind blowing. We see them on stage and all radiating the JOY of Christ but never did know the tragedies that they had to experience to be where they are. I love it when one of them said, "if the enemy knew that my comeback will be so powerful and tenacious that he wouldn't even wanna messed with me when i was younger! If the enemy knew the consequence of putting Jesus to the cross, he wouldn't have done it in the first place!" So much truth in that statement.
Anyway, since its a weekend to honour all the Beautiful Woman out there, here's just a picture of the beautiful women that are my partners in the ministry who support me, encourage me and love me for who i was created to be.

Move backwards

Something to look out for in Dec 2005.
The White Witch: "That human creature is mine. His life is forfeit to me. His love is my property."

Aslan (later): "The Witch knew the Deep Magic. But if she could have looked a little further back... she would have known that when a willing victim who had committed no treachery was killed in a traitor's stead, the Table would crack and Death itself would start working backwards" - from The lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, by C.S. Lewis.

Disney ran the first test screening of this movie in a California theatre. The existence of a screenable print constitutes a kind of opening bell for two questions regarding its content. If you have read this book and literally grew up with it, the main 2 questions that will spring up:

1) Is it any good as a movie?

2) Has it reproduced the Christian character of a C.S. Lewis book?

This all depends whether the above 4 sentences above that constitute a kind of evangelical sniff test make it into the film. However a Disney spokesperson has no confirmation on that but mentioned that they will stay as faithful as they can to the book.

This is Christianity in a kid-lit veil. Like any good sermon, it points out that because of the sins of humanity, humans are literally owned by Satan. As it says " the wages of sin is death" The idea of Aslan, because he is sinless, can voluntarilly pay for Edmund's blood with his own, is the powerful message behind Christianity. Again it says in the word "You know that you were ransomed with the precious blood of Christ." Aslan's resurrection is inevitable. And it conquers not just his death but all human kind if they believed. (or as Aslan would say causes it to move backwards). He has the power to erase everything and bring it back to the beginning where everything was beautiful, peaceful and pure.

Thank You Jesus for everything...

Nothing much to say about this one except that i much prefer it in B&W because the coloured one just looses the serenity... The flower was bright yellow too distracting.
Sipping coffee at the ....... Block Arcade. Something that i really wanna do but never do. (Contradicting myself?)

Melbourne Galore...

For the next couple of days, i'll be putting up pictures of Melbourne from my perspective... Hope that you'll enjoy them as much as i did capturing them :) And of course - please comment.
Oh and yes, i'm thinking of putting up a media player on my blog. Does anyone have the knowledge as to how to go about doing it? :)

What's happening?

A year ago i would be rejoicing that i had holidays due to some flash flood somewhere but now, i do not rejoice anymore. In fact, it scares the heck out of me.
When 9-11 came this year, there wasn't much coverage on the media of the memorials for the lives lost as the media was frantically covering Hurricane Katrina and Rita that just turned hundreds and thousands of ordinary people's lives into shambles.
Newsflash:
Every week there's at least some sort of a plane crash. Private or public.
Every week there's some bomb going off in the world. NYC, Jerusalem, Bali, London........
Every month there's a bomb that goes off in Bali.
Every month there's a terrorist threat being communicated.
Every year, for the past 2 years, a major natural disaster occured. Killing people in the thousands. And leaving hundred of thousands homeless. Our eco-system is upside-down.
Today, just over an hour ago, a string of blasts at the Indonesian resort island of Bali have killed at least 24 people and injured 95 others. It appeared to be the work of terrorists. Australians in Indonesia mainly Achech, Bali and Maluku were ordered to evacuate and depart.
I hope that this will serve as a reminder to all of us of the urgency of our duty here on earth.
